Loneliness and Other Adventures follows Mollie, a young woman in her search for love as she battles her sometimes crippling fear of being alone. Despite being just twenty one, she feels her time is running out, still single after a series of heartbreaks and rejections. She tries not to think about it, though like many others, finds herself wondering if she’s done something wrong, if she’ll ever find someone in the right place at the right time. Mollie isn’t stupid or wistful or unrealistic, even if she lets herself believe that she is, but an existential fear of dying without being loved pervades her daily life. As Mollie navigates the scary thoughts in her head that we all subject ourselves to at some time, she tries to settle on the best way to find love and, ultimately, peace within herself.

A collage of monologues, with interactive segments, dance and verbatim elements, Loneliness and Other Adventures takes an at times cynical, at times elated glance at millennial women’s relationships: to their romantic partners, their friends and themselves. Poignantly personal, the audience is invited to share in and reach beyond Mollie’s own experience, as the show hopes to encapture what it means to feel alone as a young woman, imbued with hope but anxious and questioning what the future will hold.
